2001 V70 Driver's Side power windows/locks don't always work?

I've really been searching for a good explanation on my own for a while now because I'm not usually the type to participate in forums, but I can't find anyone else who's had a similar issue. For whatever reason, my power windows and locks on the driver's side alone don't work, but the curious thing is that if I've completely discharged the battery (due to a carpet getting stuck in my trunk's hatch keeping the lights on all night) for that drive alone I'm given the ability to power lock my doors and operate the windows normally. Prior to this I thought it was a faulty module because I've checked my fuses and tested the battery and disconnected it for a while to no avail. The only temporary solution is completely discharging the battery and then jumping it again. If anyone has any ideas or similar experiences, I'd love to hear them.
