Diabetes is truly a silent killer. Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance are caused by SAD (Standard American Diet) leading to all manners of diseases and illnesses. Last 3 years high was 200lbs. Through 2 strange but similar illnesses back to back two years in a row, had rapid weight loss each time and was down to 173 in August this year.
Went into Duke late August for emergency surgery and found [email protected] and Blood Sugar @497. Blood pressure was very high so the doctors thought I might have a heart attack also. Lost 17 lbs in 4 days and stayed a total of 7 days.
Came home at 156lbs, 35 to 32 pants size and with 2 types of (2) pen dispensing insulin. My neighbors didn't recognize me and thought I was a visiting relative
Today I am insulin free, no longer have Metabolic Syndrome nor Insulin Resistance and am also Keto Adapted. I was off insulin so quickly I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Eric Westman, in the video below. Have never learned how the body worked, no physical since 1999 so I decided to reschedule with Dr. Westman to be my PCP going forward as I'm having to learn everything from the ground up. Feel like I got 30 years of my life back. Even the digestive problems from the time I was born is now in check.
In God's providence, so I won't forget to take care of my health, half my nose, half my upper lip and half my face is numb. Damage from the infection and emergency surgery. Scaring caused one side of the jaw muscle to freeze up so takes over an hour to eat being able to chew with one side only. For feeling 30 years younger though I'll take that any day.
Both Duke & Stanford have Dept Heads that goes against the American Heart Association or you can say their own colleagues. Duke even has a Medical School Course, an Elective unfortunately, going against the AHA Food Pyramid guideline.
Cousin is under care in this dept at Stanford. Was Type 2 since 95 but has been without insulin for 3 years.
