Boosted it, checked charge voltage, 13.4V at battery, but 14.2v at starter solenoid. Had a 0.8v drop across positive battery cable with engine running, and cable was warm where it connects to lead battery clamp. Used a generic cable for now, charged battery, all seems well now. Old cable had no signs of corrosion, but I bet where the battery clamp is crimped to the wire is corroded under the cover.
Oh my, It just got a little cooler to -20

One of the connectors inside one light had shorted and melted and caused the fuse to blow. Also installed a brand new Interstate battery.
This is all in preparation for her upcoming road trip to PA and then her final semester in Boston where she needs the car for commuting.

This morning I had a fun commute to work with a beautiful sunrise and an odometer "milestone" moment.

How did you get your US DIM to dispay in Celsius??

:D :D :D
Hi Steve, when you press the two clock buttons you get to choose between four settings/ combinations for clock and temp display. You can change the clock to 12 hour to 24 hour format and temp in Fahrenheit or Celsius. This works for all P80. You have to press the buttons at the same time for a second or two and it's a little finicky, but you can cycle through the options that way.

Well, now I have my morning activity planned.

Still need that blue hood? Might need paint

I’ll find my rollers and rust oleum blue 417

Rolled the P2 down through CT to the ferry

Left the maintenance log of the P80 T5 on the dash and the sun bleached out the entire 2020 log page. I think that is indeed a sign.

Good thing it’s backed up at the link below

Thanks Matt!

Since it was so warm today I did a little bit of work. Heater Core is failing, and I checked out the lines which looked fine, but upon touching felt extra crispy.

Maybe someone can tell me if these lines are correct as they came out: long one on top, short one bottom, and the plastic ring goes on the short one?

Maybe I'm missing something, but my Volvo heater hose clip and seal kit came with:
4 black rubber o-rings, 2 yellow clips, and 2 yellow plastic rings. I believe 2 o-rings, 1 clip and 1 ring go on each hose, but as I'm at the same point as you, and haven't installed them yet, I could be wrong.

I believe that is the correct orientation, yes.

There is big combo of washers and o rings to install these, along with those yellow clips. I always bypass that junction box anyway, so they never go back in. The box is too fragile to not replace. I've broken most of them that I've messed with.

Thanks guys. I do have the connector/o-ring set and the picture that comes with it shows 2 o-rings and a spacer per hose, but also to reuse the thicker yellow ring on one, and I think it is the bottom hose. I just wasn't sure the hoses I took off were right as the bottom one has a shorter end that goes into the firewall. Guess I'll try it this way.

I would also like to bypass that junction, but for now I think it will stay... It seems to be in ok condition still.

Edit: yes orientation should be fine (I just don't trust what other people did to it ;) ), you can see it in roberts video

Something to note: I didn't buy extra heater-core o-rings because I thought these came with the connector set - didn't think you would need 4 rings for 2 hoses :D
I have some generic ones from a set that should fit, think I will try those.

We have documented the size of these o-rings in the master o-ring thread here.

You need all the pieces to make these fit and seal. Some of the clips are too deep to fit so save those old ones. As long as they still spring and clip in , they are fine to use.

If your telling me that Volvo branded parts for the heater hose connections don't work, then I will be VERY disappointed, as I threw the old clips etc away months ago. That just doesn't seem right.
