Dipstick smoking still after pcv change 1995 10v 850se

Dipstick smoking still after pcv change 1995 10v 850se

Changed PCV system on my 1995 850 se 10v non turbo but still getting smoke blowing out of dipstick! Any ideas?

You changed the whole system, oil trap and hoses all put back as should be? Did you clear the holes on the block where the oil trap fits and check with schematic as to where the hoses fit?

It is known for someone to change the oil trap and replace it incorrectly then for another person to go in and replace that one and put it back in the same manner not knowing that it had been done before and refitted incorrectly.

What mileage are you at? It may be that there is wear in one or more of the bores causing blow-by.

Yes ,I agree,if you did the pcv system correct and it is still doing it, you probably have blow by. You can do a cylinder leak down test where you get each cylinder at TDC with the valves closed and you apply compressed air into the cylinder via the spark plug hole with an adaptor and see if it holds pressure. If is quickly loses air the piston rings are probably worn

Yes replaced whole system,being a non turbo I dont think you can go wrong with replacing it really, everything straight forward I think.Its done 175000 and just had main seal replaced.
