Was the machine shop in your town, sveedy, or did you ship it?

I’m not sure those fit our RN engines, bdub. I can’t find the kit for the 1999- Volvo parts webstorebmdubya1198 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2022, 20:07 Oooh, pretty!
Those should be the correct gaskets. I'm surprised that they even offer those gaskets still, I would have suggested ultra black RTV.

Thanks guys ! So does the water tree have any o-ring / seal associated with it ?
@ BB - No I looked all around to find a shop that had lots of experience with Volvo's. Ended up in Phoenix, about 130 miles away.
But well worth it. They even returned every bolt / part that they replaced, inc pistons and bearings.
Reference for others going down this road - $ 1900 for labor to rebuild upper and lower ends, inc all machine work ( boring, decking, machining crank etc ). Considering the quality and price, I will deal with the extended timeline.
In my business, and many others, there is the understanding that - Quality job, Fast job, Low price. You only get to choose two out of three.

Ok I found out that there is a gasket and o-ring for the coolant pipe. But I can't seem to find them on volvopartswebstore.
Keeps giving me parts for a 4 cyl. I have to admit that I do have problems with navigating their site....

Kind of odd the shop would have the block naked, and not be able to find the gaskets for the plates over the squirters.
Does this look like the coolant pipe stuff ?

Maybe it's just a common part from the you-pick-it box.

^ Yeah the deal was that I'd supply all of the parts. But of course I don't know all of the parts. Maybe a slight problem there with that arrangement.

If I recall, the later engines don't have those access panels. I believe that was something that stopped in early '99. IIRC, the 2001+ white blocks I've worked on have not had those.
