Two convictions

Elizabeth Holmes….what a grifter. As a scientist, this was a classic study in how accountants think you cam solve Technical problems like financial problems. Also a good study in the shark infested pump and dump culture of Silicone Valley. It’s about 5% real tech, 95% stock plays

Ghislane Maxwell… this one troubles me. In my gut, I judge here even more harshly than Epstein, and I don’t think that is right intellectually. Something about a woman betraying young girls is more evil to me than a man who does the same. That’s a misogynist view but I confess I feel it somewhat. Interesting thst in our family 4/7 women feel the same and 3/7 don’t. We all feel the same discomfort with the position.

I’m glad we cleared our prisons of innocent people who can’t pay their bail, to make space for these two.

Amen; the concept of "fake it till you make it" was rampant in Silicon Valley for a bit too long. The number of startups dangling for dollars wasted the resources of way too many people - some who had the money to spare, but most did not.
The well-paid Madame seemed to have no real profession, aside from procuring. What kind of "consent" can a mid-teens girl give, when exposed to private jets, private yachts, private islands, and multi-story brownstones in Manhattan, populated with millionaires and Princes ?
Clearing space in the system for folks who desperately need to be there is a good thing. I delivered a Bristol from Norwalk CT. to DC some years ago, and shot the slot between North Brother and Rikers islands. Both scary places, for scary people who had no business being among the general population.

Easy enough: Free Nixon's political prisoners.

I'll leave it to you to figure out which incorporated person has keep taking political prisoners for the last 50 years.

Thats,an interesting piece. I missed that confession by Erhlichman in 1994

Much to the squealing of the right , we invoked bail reform in NY last year. 70% of our prisons were people awaiting trial , unable to pay bail. Immediately the RWM started the blast of anecdotes of people out on bail committing mass murder, but the crime rate has held flat.

The second squeal came from the closing of prisons that were no longer needed, which created another blast from the right about prison guards losing their jobs. Apparently government spending for their stuff doesn’t count, a common theme.
