Since I am severely right-handed, I don't think I would be able to figure out that shifter.
I had a few early British motorcycles - still have the Norton - and it would never occur to me to try to ride anything that shifted with the left foot. I would dump the bike in the first hundred feet.

This one is headed for Anointed Ground; over $30k with six days left.
Seven hours to go , 0600 on 01-06, and it’s at $35001. Apparently a new record for a 240

You have a Norton ? OMG ! I haven't seen one of those in quite a few years. I always had a fondness for Nortons, BSA, Triumph and of course old BMW's.

I like that color and that way that car sits.

And I love a ‘71 142, but not automatic.

Where are you going to park it? Next to the Porsche?

Hehe, I wish.

This is probably going to a collection and never be seen again in natural light. You can't really drive the poor thing with all the undercoating stripped away. Unless you drive it only on sunny summer days perhaps.

This same bidder recently bought a 300D MB sedan, so maybe not quite in the 'toy collector' category.

The two wagons that sold in the last couple of months both made over $35k, easily doubling the average hammer price for those cars over the entire year.
BaT has run over 63,000 auctions so far. No wonder Hearst/Road&Track bought them out some time ago.
