seat bolt is halfway stuck

Post by Clemens »

So while fixing the heater mat for my 3rd row bench ...

Okay, in reality, it was the driver's seat. I need a warm butt in winter. Thought it would be easier to remove the seat from the car. Luckily i got 3 bolts out and the fourth bolt halway. I fixed the seat and most everything is good except that the rear bolt towards the center console is loose now because the nut that is welded to the chassis broke off.

I know someone had a similar problem here a while ago (maybe Neil?), but I can't find the thread.

I guess the only solution would be to cut a hole in order to access the hidden nut.
In that case I might as well live with just 3 out of four bolted down bolts...

I would cut the head off and pull the piece out. Through bolt it with a new M10

Perhaps you could use a captive nut like this. Cut the floor just large enough to get the captive nut slipped into the opening with the thread at the proper location.
