Hi Everyone,
I was just noticing a piece of what seems to be orange tranny gasket sort of dangling along the seem under my car.
I think a little extra squeeze out of the gasket is normal but never seen a piece dangle like that.
I have been in the area recently with a lot of PB blaster to do the engine mounts maybe this is the reason?
In any event should I be concerned about this deteriorating or is this perfectly normal and don't worry about it.
Attaching a photo.
Thanks!

I can't quite make out the area but it looks like the bell housing of the transmission. If so, no gasket is needed besides it's RTV rather than a material style gasket. Sometimes people see a drip, oil trail or leak and assume it from that area. Looks like someone spread the gasket on the exterior surface seam rather than it oozed out when the two pieces mated together.

RTV gasket maker rather than a real material gasket. The RTV gasket will squeeze out or into the area covering. Again, yours looks like it was surfaced applied and serve no purpose.
