Well that looks pretty stock.....I'd say it's a '75 240.....right?

It looks like the newer plastic timing wheel covers. I can't count wires or exhaust runners. Is the oil filler in the center or asymmetrical would you say? Would the 6 fit between a radiator and the firewall in a 240?

1975 yes. I think it's a six based on the offset oil neck like you said. For reference:

Just counting the coil cover screws and I think based on that it's a five.

With the PCV coming off the top the way it does, I'd vote for a 6.

But a beauty regardless !! I could get my groceries really fast with that baby.
