Some styles still have 7 loops, most have 5.

Did any of you hear the story about the original style with copper rivet in the crotch? Standing around the campfire was startling.

I remember my uncle's 1954 Chrysler New Yorker I was working on getting to run for him. It had the 331 hemi in it. I didn't know what the switch on the floor was at first and had to ask. The sound, smell, and feel of cars from the 50s has always been a favorite of mine.

My 1958 4 door Chevy Biscayne that I bought, and ended up trading for something else (biggest mistake/regret I've had from any car I've ever owned) also had the high beam switch on the floor.

Big bench seats and huge trunks were a couple of other perks from the 50s. Plus with most of everything being manual, there was a lot less wiring (much easier to work on, and troubleshoot). Also, back seats actually had leg room for the rear passengers (something my S60 doesn't really have).

I wasn't around in the 50s, unfortunately, but I've always loved the cars from that era.
