I'm still a AAA platinum member although once this year runs out I will never renew. Since I only service at the dealership it makes better sense to utilize Volvo's free service. Don’t forget to always tip the tow truck driver no matter what service you choose to use. JuneMrAl wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 08:57
Thank you very much June for this very very valuable information. I had absolutely no idea that this was the rule.
All i could say is, WOW, just wonder why no one else knew this yet.
Almost cant wait to try it out (ha ha) OK i can wait ha ha, but when in need this will help so very much.
I feel like i should give you some money
Thanks so much.
As to AAA, i was thinking maybe it was just this area, but that doesnt seem to be the case at all.
When they do send a truck it has to come from 20 miles away. So that tells me they do not have many garages that are affiliated with them. I may request a list of garages that they deal with just to see how many there are in NJ, especially Central NJ.
Thanks to all for the replies and experiences and opinions.
The 1800 Volvo Roadside Assistance number. Since I no longer have my cell phone from 2 months ago when Volvo Roadside Assistance last towed my S80, I don't have the number. I got the number from my dealer the first time over the phone. As the portion of a bill shows I was charged $0.00 for the tow across town to the dealership. Jacksonville, Florida is huge and my house is at the beach, a good distance from Osteen Volvo. When you call all they need is the car's Vin number. They are super nice and sent great tow drivers both times with flatbed trucks who took the time fastening my car with the screw in bumper hooks, not control arms like the one time AAA towed my S80 many years ago. My car had to be aligned after the AAA tow. Not to mention while I waited on the side of the interstate in 100° weather. Osteen sent a loaner car to me right to my broken car. Yes a employee brought me the loaner on his way home to get me and my 5# Yorkie out of the heat. AAA took another three hours totaling over four hours in harms way waiting on AAA that time. I credit Osteen Volvo for saving my Overheated Yorkie. The S80 had blown a heater hose so the engine couldn't be idled. That was many years ago. I don't renew AAA he does year after year. I have had membership since 1987 when my 1986 Buick kept leaving me stranded. Never used it again till the S80 heater hose, but Mike has. Believe it or not. June
