Sensor problems often cause fans to either stay on or never come on. I would check it...also a cause for your surging. If not the sensor then the fan relay (under fan shroud) but do the sensor first. Do you get a coolant sensor code when you have the trouble codes read?

The only code I've ever gotten has been the "coolant temperature is lower than thermostat temperature" or something like that.
I will do the sensor and if not check the fan relay like you said.
You have helped so much. I really do appreciate it. Thank you.

Alright, fan clicked on yesterday for a few, not sure if it came on while I was driving, but I heard it when i got out of the car. I know I'm asking alot of you guys and you've been the best help ever. Hard to believe there are so many helpful people around. I promise I'll contribute again $$. I posted on another forum. If someone wouldn't mind reading what I wrote there and the replies I'd really appreciate it. All ties into this:

Wondering now if there is a possible clog? Didn't get thermostat sensor replaced lastnight so no updates on that yet.
Thanks again,
Sharon
