I was once told by a Volvo dealer in Scotland about a customer who drove his brand new Volvo off the lot and the first set of traffic lights less than a mile from the dealer a semi rear-ended it and totaled it. Customer was fine but came back and bought another!

They sold thst car as a converted v70 to s70

I have successfully pulled of the solid bar tow now three times , which doesn’t need a towed driver. Gather up this stuff from Harbor Fright

2 foot 2 inch receiver
Large Clevis tow end
Shackles
Safety chain

And join this elite club

To date , I’ve pulled off the following with this kit....check with your lawyer and LEO to ensure you follow Regs, of course.

For AT folks , Volvo says 30 miles/ 30 mph limit last I checked. I’ve rarely towed even half this as that’s far enough for a paid tow

Pulled a V70 60 miles from Glens falls to ALBANY at 40 mph, m56 so no transmission concerns
Moved Non running Kat around driveway
Recovered an XC70 from a no start
Recovered Kat 1 miles from fuel leak
Recovered a Kat 1 mile from no start
