Steering rack hard line available separate?

I think the hard line that runs along the steering rack is rusted and weeping/leaking. I can't find a listing for just 2 hard lines separately. It looks like it's included with the rack. I don't really want to spend the loot for a new rack at this point, do I have any other options?

Use FCPEuro.com or rmeuropean.com to look up PNs.

Then I strongly recommend that you use Volvo Genuine lines.
The Volvo parts are more expensive, but they last a long time.
And they don't leak.

Sometimes leak from PS High-Pressure Hose can cause fire because the exhaust is nearby.

What you're looking for is the transfer lines.

Just replace the whole rack at this point. No need to nickel and dime especially on a repair with that much labour involved. I would recommend United Power Steering.

If you can get to it these aren’t hard to make up in CuNiForm. That will be much cheaper amd quicker than a rack job

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Trying to decide if I want to just replace the rack, car has 183,000 miles. I'm chasing a mystery bad module too not sure how much money I put into the car until I can narrow that problem down.

We also have a xc70 with close to 200kmiles and rack is fine. Same with the v70 just leaking from the push in fittings and the new lines and o-rings did not solved the leaking. But rack is fine.
Fyi lowering the subframe a couple of inches is enough to replace the balacing lines. Rack can stay connected to the steering shaft .

If you still need info about this ... on my 2004 XC70 removing the hard lines was surprisingly easy once virtually all obstacles were removed (rear and passenger side engine mounts, sway bar links and brackets, rack connections to tie rods, ball joints to control arms, two exhaust brackets/hangers) and the rear portion of the front subframe was lowered sufficiently by loosening the four main bolts (with separate subframe and engine bar support). I believe that replacing the hard lines in place (part #30776291) would also have been pretty easy. ~$120 through Volvo dealer. Much cheaper if you order online to be delivered to the dealer or directly to you. ~$190 from the very same dealer if you purchase directly from them. Strange.

I ended up removing the rack because I'm also replacing the steering coupler and once the coupler was off, removing the rack was almost as easy as picking it up off the ground.

The main issue is that part #30776291 apparently fits only ZF racks that were used until ~2004-2005. Hard lines do not appear to be available for the SMI racks that were used thereafter. But ask a dealer for the right part for your VIN, assuming you still have the original rack. Fabrication would probably be easy for a competent brake shop or DIYer.
