Throttle Body Sound

Post by Cdean »

Hi all, first time poster. I’ve searched far and wide for anyone else having this problem, and I can’t find anything.
I bought a 1999 V70 Base in October that someone else had started restoring, and now I am completing the task.
I get a strange flapping sound coming from the throttle body when idling. It is a fairly new one, less than two years old, from XeMODeX.
I’ve attached a video where you can hear it.

Thanks all for your help!

Have you removed the rubber inlet hose and carefully checked if the flap is loose?

Problem with Xemodex is that their units are only warranted to the person who had the unit repaired. I would check if the throttle plate is loose and then talk to Xemodex. They have a problem check list and may be able to help figure this out.
