I have a 2010 XC70 with approximately 68k miles on it. I had some weird noise when sitting in park and switching gears, so I had the wife move between gears while I try to pin down noise location. That’s when I noticed the engine moved every time she switched gears, see video. I do not think this is normal.
Is this an engine mount/bracket issue? How can I verify which/if the engine mounts are bad? Should I look at something else as well?
Thank you in advance.
SOLVED: The engine should move a little bit and it seems this is within normal spec. However while searching for a solution to this problem I found a solution to the original problem ( Loud noise in passenger wheel well while in reverse) the right motor mount is/was bad. Replaced it and no more noise while in reverse. It was easy to replace took me maybe an hour (setup to clean up). I had to jack the engine almost 3" to make the new one fit. thanks for the help guys. On to the next problem.

Any significant engine movement likely indicates a bad motor mount. Three of the five aren't bad to replace on a P2 chassis. Some YouTube investigation should help you determine if you are up for it on yours.
Most noticeable movement would be drive to reverse and vice versa.

Unfortunately I couldn't view the video. Share this experience...my son's S80 died. He and his friends tried to investigate and noted that the engine appeared "loose" while trying to start! Yes, one of his friends who thinks he knows cars thought that the bolt that holds the engine in place was loose!
Now that you are done laughing....so it turns out that it was a fuel delivery problem, but my point is that sometimes there is in fact more movement in the engine bay than you'd expect. But by no means discount the possibility of worn motor mounts as Krons posted!
And make sure that bolt isn't LOOSE!
