I have a 2005 S80 T5 with about 130k miles. I got the 925C code - "Electronic throttle unit. Signal too high". When it was colder out (45 F) a couple days ago, I could clear the code and it would run fine. Yesterday, it was warmer (70F) and when I cleared the code it would just stall.
After I cleared the code, VIDA would have reasonable readings for throttle potentiometers 1 & 2, but after I shut the car off and back on again, they'd be pegged at 8.63% no matter where the gas pedal was, until I cleared the code again.
I already cleaned the gunk out of throttle body with no change, but I didn't have any contact cleaner for the connector.
Before I disassemble everything again, I'd like some educated guesses. Does this sound like the ETA, the harness/connector, or the ECM? Also, is the grease on the 4 contacts inside the ETA for the position sensor dielectric or conductive?
Thanks in advance.

Clean the butterfly on the throttle unit.
Clean the electrical connectors.
Check for shorts and opens in the wiring.
ECM-925C Electronic throttle unit. Signal too high
Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the movement of the throttle is impeded, or that the return spring in the throttle unit is not functioning correctly, when attempting to adapt the electronic throttle unit.
Substitute value
Depending on the fault, the engine control module (ECM) can cut off the supply to the damper motor in the electronic throttle unit. The throttle will then attempt to set itself to the return position.
Possible source
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
Poor performance.
Clean the electrical connectors.

Substitute value
Depending on the fault, the engine control module (ECM) can cut off the supply to the damper motor in the electronic throttle unit. The throttle will then attempt to set itself to the return position.
Possible source
- 1. The throttle is sticking or is blocked (e.g. oil film, dust)
2. Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals between the engine control module (ECM) and the electronic throttle unit
3. Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground or short-circuit to supply voltage in the wiring for the damper motor in the throttle unit
4. Short-circuit to each other in the wiring for the damper motor in the electronic throttle unit
5. Damaged throttle unit.
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
Poor performance.
