If it’s driving well it’s worth having the codes cleared and then seeing if / when they come back. These cars can spurious code as they age, so don’t hunt for problems until you get codes that stick.
Let is know your zip and we can see if someone is nearby for a code clear

P1618 is just a generic code that there are trouble codes in the tcm. P0810 says clutch position sensor.
You really need vida or a better aftermarket scanner that can read the actual codes from the tcm.
I had an issue with my 01' where the front transmission speed sensor was slightly cracked where the wires go in. It was causing an erratic reading. Pull back the black rubber on the top of the sensor and look to see if the epoxy looks cracked at all, it should be completely sealed around the wires. If the front transmission speed sensor is good, then check the back transmission speed sensor. One is the input speed sensor and the other is the output speed sensor I don't remember which is which.
Also check fluid level and condition.
Do not change anything in the valve body or the pressure solenoids before fully diagnosing the issue.
If it turns out to be an issue with the solenoids or valve body, replace the valve body with the gm one or source a good used transmission It's not worth it to replace the pressure solenoids or install any shift kits because the adjustment process is too painful and time consuming. I've had the pan off the front of mine at least 5 times so far messing with it.

After reading through a few other threads about p0810 and the fact that it's exclusively 2001 models with the code, I'm convinced that it's the code for neutral control. The good news is that if the code is set the car will not go into neutral while stopped, the "feature" is disabled, the bad news is that if that is the case the best course of action is to go to the dealer and have the tcm reflashed with the newest firmware.

Should be free with service 2.0 or whatever they call it. Any service you go for warrants a free software update for all modules in the car. I got that done on my car when it was getting it's seat heaters replaced under warranty at the dealership. But I did specifically ask for it. How much does the dealer charge to change your wiper blades?lawrencium265 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2022, 18:11 After reading through a few other threads about p0810 and the fact that it's exclusively 2001 models with the code, I'm convinced that it's the code for neutral control. Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.
