Or like I do, with 4 or 7 at the same time, from large to tiny. The tiny job people think they can "cut the line" and you can drop everything and fit them in right now. Then none of the jobs are getting done, and all of the clients are pissed. The University calls and says, do you want this job? It's already 6 months behind schedule when they call, they want it next week, and then they blame you for delaying their arbitrary schedule.

When everything is an emergency, which emergency do you work on? And after a while you become numb to emergencies, which is scary.
