First time poster - window switch 87 245

Post by WGFP »

Hi all,
First post - have been out of Volvos for a while. My son just picked up a pretty nice 1987 245 with very little that needs to be done immediately. One minor thing is replacing a window switch. As I looked up the part, I noticed that the switches are in an odd place - not jiving with the 1987 owner manual or any photos I can find on the net. The front switches are on the center panel - rocker switches in the row that includes the AC control/defroster/hazards. The rear switches are similar rockers on the center console between the front seats, behind the e-brake. No provision for switches at all in the doors themselves. Anyone know the history of that configuration, and which would be the correct switch to purchase (rear window)?

Thanks!

Perhaps you have a Volvo rocker switch repurposed for owner added electric windows. Try to get a replacement switch at a salvage yard or on ebay.
