It's been nice driving my V70R again, I forgot how great it is on the highway. I had my spare Supersprint exhaust welded on last week (my ghetto flex pipe fix finally failed about a month ago when I hit a bump, it was a matter of time!), and now that the exhaust system is all in one piece, it sounds nice and quiet. I wouldn't mind it a LITTLE louder though, the Supersprint sounds damn near stock.

Glad we got past the 'special page number' without any major issues as far as I can see.

Finally got time to re-connect the battery on the 'R' to test the last (RHR) door actuator. Ended up having to re-build both rear door panels and all the mounts.

RHR actuator was not working at all. Motor seemed seized. Was hoping to fit my 'new' actuator motor but good old USPS seems to have mislaid it. Left LA last Saturday for the 'next' USPS outpost, but no one there seems to know where that is or how long it should take. 8 days later still no update. Hm.........................!

As the 'replacement' Chinese made motors are not going to be here for a few weeks yet, I had to either fix the current one or overhaul the used one I have and try that.

Managed to disassemble the motor and it was really dirty inside. In fact both rear doors internally were filled with a fine dust which I can only put down to all the forest fires over the last few years out west of here.

Managed to free the motor off, re-lube the shafts and clean all the crap out and eventually the motor spun up easily by hand and then the 9V battery as well.

So now both rear motors have the 'copper wire upgrade' for now but as it is summer soon that is ok. Can re-build them with correct motors/protection next winter.

Finally removed dash and repaired / reinforced the mounts. All 4 were completely broken off.
After some other behind the dash maintenance, things should go back in tomorrow.

Dash all done and reinstalled. Went really smoothly, but I did have issues with, of all things, the glove box liner. Dumb dumb idea to have the wire loop for the latch behind the lip of the liner. You have to put undo stress on the dash either pulling the liner out or putting it in.
Could have been so much easier if the loop was just mounted on the face of the liner, or if the liner was notched to go around it.
But at least there were no O-rings involved with this job. Looking forward to driving with both hands on the steering wheel again.

You can secure the glovebox with oetiker clamps , too
