All,
I have a '96 850 GLT, non-turbo w/20 valve engine 5254. The problem is that after starting, it runs for about 10 or seconds, then dies. If, when running (not in gear), you press the accelerator to the floor, it will maintain high speed and you can moderate the speed at between 3-4,000 rpm. As soon as you lift your foot off the accelerator, however, it dies.
The codes are 1-1-2, translating to P1401 - Fault in ECM and P0115, which I don't know.
I've replaced the plugs, changed both computers, the ignition module and still no result.
I disconnected the air mass meter plug, which should allow it to idle. No dice.
There are no vacuum leaks. The segmented snorkle hose had some leaks, but was duct-taped to seal the leaks.
Nada.
What's the scoop with this car?
Hope somebody has the answer...
96 850 Starts, runs for 10 seconds or so, then quits.... Topic is solved

When the car is off, check for pressure on the fuel rail. It has a schraeder valve. If you've done a whole bunch of things to get spark, and your air filter is clean, that leaves fuel that you're not getting.
