That clutch switch inhibits cranking but not starting on a 1999, but I don’t think it even does this on earlier -1998 Motronic 4,4

Mine went on my 1999 and I could push start it.

Fuel pressure regulation changed over the years. Is it firing on ether? Quick way to diagnose spark vs spark/ fuel problem

You've missed a connection somewhere. You say you have spark, and fuel at the rail, but have you verified that the injectors are firing? I'm guessing not.

Seeing as you can't communicate with the ECU through the OBDII port, and you haven't mucked with the body-side harness, the ECU is probably not getting power.

I'll ask again if you have checked the main EFI relay that is mounted on the fan shroud? The connectors are for crap and I've had them get knocked loose. This will cause the car to crank but not fire. Does the relay click when attempting to start the car.
