I like the first pic a lot. The mountains give it a lot of depth. Very nice composition.

I've never seen a salt processing plant before. I know salt doesn't just magically appear in the store, but I never really thought about how it's extracted from the water. I'm assuming a lot of boiling, and evaporation, which makes the most sense.
