Was there another Volvo that was sold as its color?

Naturally, we're talking about the Platinum Edition Volvo 850, sold as 1996 models.

Of course Yellows are more rare, with 364 sedans, 49 wagons imported to the United States (as new, fewer now). Platinum numbers imported were higher: 1000 sedans and 500 wagons.

The color was the deal: they were sold as a special (limited) color/trim... that was the point.

Was there another Volvo that was sold as its color?

The T-5R Yellows were T-5R... but in Yellow. You could also get them in black or green. The Platinums were marketed as Platinums. See the difference?

At the end of the day I think a lot of it also comes down to this: do you like the color? I like the Plat color. And the special wheels...

The Yellows were T-5R, 1995. No other R was ever this color. So yea, 49 wagons total. It's really the holy grail of Volvo collecting.

It’s a little known fact that all T5R have Nautic Blue primer under the yellow, the cream of the cream…

When the T5s came out I remember they were nicknamed T-Röd and T-Gul, referencing two different fire accelerants.
