Hose Question 760

Hello again,

this probably is a stupid question, but I'm just curious to know what the hose is that is just below and slightly to the left of the air filter housing on my 88 760 v6? It looks like it is connected to a little plastic piece that channels air from the grille through this hose to a port on the side of the block. I'm going to replace it because it's torn in more than one place but I just can't figure out what it's called. Also, I'm still going to replace it but could having it like this cause any ill-effects?

I'll see if I can't snap a picture tomorrow if needed

A picture would help as I can't visualize which hose it is.

Hi Bill, thanks for the reply...

In the first picture you can see the hose that is torn up
I didn't realize it but the hose is actually connecting the bottom of the airbox to the side of the engine... didn't see that before

That looks like the fresh air hose.
