Resetting wiper position 2002 S80

I'd like to know if I can reset my wiper position, the wipers will not return to the down position after a snow storm. When I asked my Volvo dealer to reset them (while my car was in for an oil change) I was told that they were bent, and would cost $600 to replace! REALLY??!!! I can't imagine that a snow build up would cause them to bend, of course I declined...advice please!

HAve they just slipped on the splines, Lift the cover of and see if there is a small hex nut under there. If so undo take wiper arm off and then replace wiper arm in the correct position. close to the bottom . That should cure it , unless of course the arms have bent.
