I just drove my car from PHX up to Seattle and now am selling my car. I took the car to a European specialist for help and he told me the problem was the struts- His notes-"R&R strut to replace upper spring seat left and right front. Four way alignment and adj of wheels to man."
He said the noise was caused by a broken upper spring seat on the left and right side. He said the right side hydralic engine mount.
Now however my car is vibrating more. I took the car back to him and he said he would put in a right engine mount. After he did so, he said it did not help and he took it out. He said he did not know what else to do so now my car is worse than it was before I took it in!
I looked over my service notes from the past dealer in Scottsdale and it said " trans mount leaking-sway bar bushings falling out-sway link boot torn.
Could these two things be related and if they are why didn't my new service mechanice consider this? I am totally frustrated. Does anyone have any ideas about this?
Thanks!l

The swaybar endlinks and related parts wouldn't cause vibrations but they will cause clunking over bumps especially at slow speed. If you needed the spring seats it was probably a good thing those were replaced too. Besides the labor they shouldn't have been very high. The engine mount too is good and usually gets rid of vibrations. Strange that he changed it and then took it out. I would definitely find a different independent mechanic.
Btw, you never say but does the vibration happen at idle or if you're moving? Is it worse the faster you go? I'm thinking the 4 wheel alignment and tire balancing was botched. Could have been that unless it happens at idle more than while moving.

The vibration happens when the car is started and while driving but does not increase with speed. It is not like when your brakes are had and the steering wheel vibrates -this is the whole car and is noticeable to others besides the driver.
