I had an Acura that would tilt the passenger side mirror down while in reverse to help see the curb easier when parking.

Yup, my BMWs do that too. It can be a good feature, but it's annoying unless you're parallel parking. Fortunately you can deactivate it by leaving the mirror control switch to the passenger side.

Those Euro style mirrors are great, very good design!

They took the mirrors that drooped on the Honda, add a motor, and $20,000 to the sales price

Neil.

Hi,

Very interesting idea. If mine was angled down and one angled normal that would work out great.
It would also be interesting to put one of those big truck mirrors on a car like mine. Would work great for backing up.

I hope i can get a bigger add-on mirror. You cant imagine how much it helps until you've tried one.
I'm not too crazy about the mounting scheme though but i'll put up with it for now.

Oh i could also use some touch up paint if anyone knows the best place to get some. My color is silver.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Hi,

Yeah great idea. Do you happen to know if they work pretty well or a pain in the neck or something? I saw some online for sale prices vary widely. Anyone here have one already?

Thanks for the reply.

I had one fitted to my 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Works really well. I had to by an appropriate head unit which is a double DIN size like Volvo radios with a camera input.

I have a rear licence plate mounted camera that is hardwired to the head unit. I was strongly advised not to use wifi versions or bluetooth due to signal delays getting picture to screen live time. So went analogue with good old cables. I installed the camera and wiring into the tailgate and then my local electronics store installed the wiring and head unit.

Hi Neil,

Oh ok that brings up another question i had for a while. Since i never had one it's hard to imaging what you see on the screen, i mean exactly. If the cam is mounted just above the license plate, what exactly do you see on the monitor when you back out? I would think that would be too close to the road surfaces but again i have had one yet.
Thanks.

Hi Steve,

Two of what, the mirrors or the cameras?
