850 golden emblems question

Some time ago i was searching on ebay for Turbo badge for my T5, and found this https://www.ebay.com/itm/173868244818 this https://www.ebay.com/itm/325103402704 and this https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-NOS-OEM-Vo ... 4144238305 also i found this video

Was this a factory accessory or it was placed on some special, maybe aniversary, trim of 850 Turbo ?

The badges on the rear of the car at the end of the video (~9:14) do look gold colored. I hadn't seen that before!

Canadian West Coast car. Amazing condition. I have never seen the gold emblems before, but maybe a North American option? You saw that in many 90s and noughties era cars, especially on Japanese vehicles like Lexus.

Personally not a fan, but to each their own.

Yea, also a question, in the engine bay you can see black hose clamp on airbox, was this a factory thing ? looks much better than steel uncolored one

If you mean the hose clamp on the intercooler pipe which is like a dull gray/black, some of those were that color.

Gold stuff was dealer option. Gold badges' heyday was in the 1990s. It started as a 'street' look, mostly on Hondas. Then it just worked its way up the food chain to new cars on lots of just about every make and model. I still see one every so often.

Much like the teal paint color. It exploded in the 90s, and quickly went out of vogue.

Also akin to gold badging was clear tail lights. (Not the same as clear European spec factory turn/side markers etc.) Clear tail lights came straight outta the streets, and was adopted by several major manufacturers like GM, Subaru and Nissan.

It's gross, hasn't aged well.

The earliest "clear" lights I recall always looked white to me. I have no idea why people called them white.
