So I started the process of fixing my leaky sunroof the other day and it is coming along very nicely. Except the fact that I am not sure where 2 curved plastic pieces go back. They have to go on one of the corners of the glass and i assume under the rubber seal, but I am not sure which corners? Any suggestions?
Thanks

I mistakenly left mine out...discovered them after I had finished. Yes, they do go under the rubber seal on the front two corners. Supposedly they keep the glass from lifting up at high speeds if you drive with the sunroof open.

well i thought my sunroof repair was going well.... I guess the roof was just too rusted for proper repair. I put the roof back in and it is leaking worse than before. Rather disappointed after seeing 3 days work go to waste. What are my replacement options?
The water gets between the glass and the METAL STRIP and not the weather strip. If you're lucky, the metal is not desintegrated.
Have a look at this:

A new sunroof glass is 900$ at the dealer.
Good luck.

I did this repair about a year ago...I took a wire wheel on a drill and got as much of the rust off as I could, then pulled the glass back to try to get some coarse sand paper in between the glass and the frame got some more off...when I couldn't get any more off, I used a "rust converter" that you can buy at the auto parts store and liberally applied it over all of the metal that was rusting and had been rusting. After it sat over-night, I then primed and painted the metal to further inhibit rust, then finally I was able to attached the rubber seal around the glass. This seems to have done the job and I have had no leaks since then. I will say that the time it takes the rust converter to work and then dry and to prime and paint it and after that to attach a new rubber seal took all weekend. I did use a weather strip adhesive (3M heavy duty- it's yellow) to attach the glass back to the frame and also around the perimeter of the glass which made if very difficult to push the rubber seal down over its lip. I had blisters on my thumbs from doing this. Later I found out that the only place adhesive goes in regards to the rubber seal is in the rear where you cut it to join the ends together.
It appears that you'll be taking the seal off of the frame again. Good luck!

MIJ,
I did almost the same process as you did although i used silicone sealant rather than weatherstrip adhesive. I looked at my roof this morning after a hard rain and i think the water is just coming in around the front corners where i put those plastic curved pieces back. I might just pull the rubber seal and take those off and reseal it. Thoughts?

It's hard to say. What I found is that the rubber weather stripping, even if it leaks really shouldn't put water into the cabin...the way the sunroof area is built water is diverted to the edge and down the drains. Check your drains in the corners and make sure they're clear. I don't think leaving the plastic pieces out really hurts anything. I've not had my sunroof blow off at high speeds yet!
