I'm thinking about it. Just SUVs for ski tourists. I live in a good spot, right off I-25. Street parking is no problem.
The moneymakers are the boring SUVs, minivans, Crown Victorias. Sports cars get abused, wheels get curbed, etc.

Altimas would probably be a good moneymaker, assuming the renters could refrain from the usual Altima drivers' fetish with smashing the bumpers off, lighting it on fire, jumping haystacks with it, and driving 1000 miles on a donut spare, etc...

Decades ago my wife and I were planning a vacation in Colorado. Being cheap, I found a Denver phone book and looked for 'off the main stream' rental places. I found one - Al's. Al had a much used ex Bell phone company cargo van for rent. I think it was $100 for the week. I hosed out the dirt and replaced the cardboard and plastic bag over the roof vent. Al's main advice was if a tire failed, do not buy the most expensive tire. And don't call him because he was going to be on vacation at Grand Lake.
We had no problems with the van.

In college, I had a refrigerator rental business in the dorms. I had 7 or 8 compact refrigs. I bought them cheap and the rent paid for them in about 3 semesters. One was stolen and never found, a couple were scratched up. I sold them at the start of my last year. Students had money at the start of the year and none at the end.
When I tried to restart with my younger brother, the Dorm Admin would not allow it.
