Hi,

666 is the number of the 'beast'. 666666 is the number of miles to hell, now we know :-)

Two guys were sent to hell for being 'bad'. When they got there, they saw a bunch of people standing knee deep in dung and drinking coffee. The host handed them both a cup of coffee. One guy said to the other, "Hey this isnt so bad". The other guy says, "Yeah gee i can put up with this". Then a few minutes later the Devil walks in and says, "Ok folks, coffee break's over, back on your heads". [sound: Whaa, whaa, whaa, whaa, in decreasing pitch tones]
:-)

Anybody hear that one before? I first heard it when i was a kid.

I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Had 2 hours of fun at 1 am last night till 3 am while my car would not crank nor start. Narrowed it down to a corroded connection on the starter initially and was barely able to boost it with my 500 CCA booster (need to buy a larger one). Today i needed to boost every start however the voltage did not seem bad. Stopped by interstate battery and they measured the CCA capacity to 200 Amps of the 730 it should be and voltage was moderately okay. It was a hot day so the alternator output was lower. I had the 30 month warranty battery and got a free replacement one. It is time to reclaim the sleep lost last night.

Hoping the issue is fixed now and i will be trouble free. On the plus side my drain and fill has solved the transmission issues as i put 1300 km on the car over the weekend with no issues.

Hello there,

Are you saying that they measured 200 CCA when it was supposed to be 730 CCA? That sounds low. I guess that is why you got a new one?

I had my v70 at the garage recently and one of the issues was a dead battery. Rather than make good on the Interstate warranty for me he replaced it with a $200 new Delco. My Interstate battery was under warranty so i took it myself for a replacement and i got a new one right then and there. I maintain it with a special battery maintainer charger which has 4 stages.
The Delco though is smaller and only has about 650 CCA while the Interstate was rated for 730 CCA like yours. I'll see how the Delco holds up this winter.

Yup, that is exactly what i was saying. They were surprised as well. Very surprised i was even able to get the car to start with the booster. Any lower and my low amp booster wouldnt do didly squat. Car starts much nicer now!

2 years ago on the shock boots. Wow! Just goes to show how fast times pass when you are enjoying yourself or going senile!! :D

I'll let you know how it goes on the boot order. The on-line Volvo Dealer in Vancouver also said it should be here in 3-4 weeks. I have to say based on your experience I expect to be disappointed, but really hope not!

Neil.
Ordered a pair when I saw your post on the other thread, but...

" Thank you for placing your order with Tasca Parts!

While reviewing your order (Order 1794648) for processing I've discovered an issue. Part #1387105 is currently on national backorder with the automotive manufacturer and has no estimated date of resupply. We do not currently have this item in stock at our warehouse and are unable to acquire it at this time. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, sometimes the demand for certain parts and accessories exceeds manufacturers’ current supplies. I apologize for the inconvenience.

To prevent any further inconvenience, I have canceled and refunded your order. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to clear.

Hopefully, we can better serve your OEM parts needs in the future!

Thank you for your business!

Kind Regards,
Amy C "

I've not got that message yet, but totally expect to get it soon!

Fortunately, the units on the car that have failed appear (I'm told) to still be intact. If that is the case I can swap them over for my friend.

Thanks for the update, even though it is disappointing.

Cursed at the Devil for failing the Kats' (S70 AWD) fuel pump, thanked the Creator for failing it in the driveway, and not on Thursday on the planned trip on the BQE in NYC

:D :D :D

Update - The Creator said she would sue the Devil to pay for my new fuel pump, but she couldnt find a lawyer.

Not Volvo news, but took a look at an 7rdx with 275 miles on it. Gonna pass on it but those must have been some of the comfiest seats I have sat in. Looking at a few other for my partner. Need less to say I tried to convince her to get an s60 and nearly succeeded however she wanted a small suv
