Stalling 740
I have a 1985 740 turbo that is stalling when the temperature goes above half way on the thermometer. A mechanic mentioned stall codes. Is there a way to stop this stalling.
Stalling can be caused by many things but the more common on your year and model are dirty throttle body and/or idle air control motor. Both of these are easy to remove and clean.
The 1985 700 does not really have ECU self diagnostics so your mechanic would not be able to pull codes.
Other tems to check are the general state of tune; plugs, cap, rotor, ignotion wires. Fuel system; filter and pumps. Possible sensor problems; thermo sensor, throttle position, etc.
