Aside from letting VIDA run in monitor mode for a week on each door sensor, is there anywhere in VIDA that one can see what triggered the car alarm the last time it triggered?
I had replaced the batteries in the alarm module, and unplugged the siren horn when reassembling, but I will get the occasional random honking and flashing of emergency flashers, which can be reset with the keyfob as one would expect.
But I have no switch to disable any movement alarm, (when leaving dogs or kids in the car) so I assume my car does not have a "mass-movement sensor" or "inclination/level sensor". So I assume we are talking about door switches here (and I'm looking at YOU Mr. Tailgate!).
This happens every few days without any obvious cause to set off the alarm, so it could also be the alarm module itself, triggering without any proximate cause at all.
Unplugging the alarm module did NOT disable my sunroof, but it did cause a DIM display about "alarm service required", and it made VIDA even more unhappy, as she has never quite gotten over my removal of the stock stereo system, which means the "AUM Communication Fault" DTC is a permanent reported problem.

Alarm Triggering - How To Find Source of Alarm?
1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

When this has happened with my car it's been due to broken/cracked wiring in the tailgate left hinge area and getting a tailgate open at random times and it's also been flaky switches in a couple of different door lock assemblies. Do you ever see a tailing open message in the info display or do you ever hear a chime when going over bumps? Anytime the alarm is set if any of the door or tailgate closed switches opens up (for whatever reason) the alarms will go off. Do you ever having any problems locking all the doors, where one door doesn't always lock? This would indicate one of the two switches in the door is starting to get flaky. Sometimes it takes a while to for the switches to get bad enough to pinpoint which door is the problem.packetfire wrote: ↑03 Sep 2022, 11:18 Aside from letting VIDA run in monitor mode for a week on each door sensor, is there anywhere in VIDA that one can see what triggered the car alarm the last time it triggered?

OK, thanks, so no "log" of the event that triggered the alarm in VIDA.
But at least I know that the new-ish battery pack for the alarm module is working!
