How much time to do the piston rings and slap on some crank bearings? Have consider these as they are kind of cute and sporty but the engine problems make them cheap and of no value especially if it breaks on your watch.

Which years and models are affected by the engine problems which you mention? Is it all the Ford-era P3 cars? Would help us know which NOT to buy.

Might of mentioned it here on MVS but tried to buy a 10 XC60 awhile back. Owner said just started to use a little oil . Started to do some research... Up to 16 I think they still have not gotten it right?

That's in really nice shape, it's a shame it needs an engine. It's hard to justify spending $6k on an S60R that needs an engine.

That would need a complete rebuild at that point, if that's the case. I guess you COULD just slap rings and bearings on it, but it's best to hone the cylinders.

There's at least one other variant of R - adult owned, not beat on, reasonably but not overly maintained, wear items decaying as in any other 15 year old car.
