Re: electrical problems, passenger seat, 12v outlet, radio
Thanks again... Yea i have to get mine fixed as well im counting on the repair fixes a bunch of things like the back up sensors.... The only confusing part is my radio does have power but zero lights... Kinda wonder if its linked to the Amp in some way under the pass seat which also has no function.... I also wonder why one couldn't splice in power from another source to light it up.

I recently started experiencing this problem as well in my 2004 XC90. Today I verified that there was no power coming to fuses 10,11 in the passenger fuse box. I traced the larger gauge purple wire coming out of the back of fuse 11 to relay CMA2 in the passenger compartment under the dash. I replaced it with a good relay and voila! the passenger power seat and 12V sockets worked! I was totally prepared to remove the CEM and send it out to be repaired so I'm glad I tried this first.

Good job, Sean.
So CMA2 is on the CEM but is removable? I was under the impression that later CEMs had relays soldered in place.

I had the same issue in my 2013 XC90 with no power on passenger seat & 12V outlets (Radio wasn't affected). I replaced the Relay (70A 12v) in the CEM and it has fixed the issue. Removing the Relay from the board was a PITA as the relay absorbs all the heat. I only used a soldering iron with Soder Wick and eventually removed all the solder to take it off the board.
