Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
I tried again and this time they've confirmed my order and also charged me the additional $14 per item for oversized shipping. This further than I got the last time.
FWIW, the state of play last year was that they said the parts were available if I was willing to wait a couple of months and pick them up at will-call. Shipping was not an option.
I'm removing the full-length rail covers from my 2000 V70 so I can install roof racks. They're a little worn as usual, but can be rehabilitated according to this thread. I can get these covers to whoever needs them but I need the windshield-height replacements. I am planning to cut my full-length ones down but if full-length is desirable, I'll trade them for the shorter ones.
The XC70 in VA pick-n-pull had its roof rails removed, left on top of the car, with its full-length rail covers removed. Seems like this trim is still desirable. Does that boxy style of rails simply sit on top of the covers? My smooth rail style has a built-in base which runs the length of the roof. That's why I need windshield-height covers.
I miss JRL. He was a resource and a character. I almost bought a car from him when the engine blew on my V70 back around 2009.
