Snapped the bleeder screw off while troubleshooting my brake sticking issue. The p2s have independent lines for each brake, so I don’t have to bleed the other ones correct? Scared of snapping another screw if I have to …

Heat those bleeders for 28 seconds before easing. Then replace with new ones every 5 years or so

You can bleed the caliper by cracking the brake line with a big catch pan underneath

Confirmed that P2s have four brake lines , one to each wheel. This actually started in 1999

Thanks abscate. I was able to bring the caliper to a machine shop and he successfully extracted it by welding a washer and nut to it. I greased everything and got the caliper and slides moving freely and my issue is fixed. Wish I had the time to wait for a new caliper to arrive but I’ll have to put that job off for another year. I should probably bleed all my brakes next spring anyways.

I will need to bleed my brakes on my 2007 XC70 in a couple of days. Any particular instructions I should be aware of?
The last time I bled brakes was some 20 odd years ago on a car from the 90's so I'm wondering if the procedure on "newer" Volvos have steps to take to prevent damaging some electronic or control components....
What sequence will you be bleeding the brake lines?

It’s easy aside from the bleed screws, which need to be torched and sprayed with penetrant as noted above and make sure it will crack open. In fact it really just gravity bled itself. Attach plastic hose, have someone hit the brakes and hold them down. Crack the bleeder and watch fluid flow. Close bleeder. Have them relesse the brake pedal. Check and adjust fluid. Then repeat.

I have heard volvo is strange and requires bleeding sequence FL, FR, RL, RR but I’m not sure that’s necessary.

The only issue with electronics is if you introduce air into the abs module, then you may need vida to bleed those lines.

You can just pinch the brake line off and drive with 3/4 brakes for a few months. Do this safely, make sure you trim off the zip ties. Don’t be this guy.

Don’t suggest things like that to me… With so many ghetto fixes on my cars i might actually be tempted to do it….
