Saturday I cleared all the debris on the driveway, lawn, car and street from Ian's wind and rain. Due to the amount of continuous rain we had I decided to try out some Turtle Wax purchased a couple years back when it was $5 a bottle. Mopped the hood of excess water and sprayed. Got dark so only did the hood, windshield, front passenger and driver's glass inside and out besides dash. Felt pretty slick so decided to see how good it is.

Replaced the wipers today with Michelin's on sale at Costco. Good combo with Turtle Wax and wiped very smoothly. I always get the next one or two size up for more windshield coverage. This time could have gone from 21" to 24" on the driver's side. 22" is on the edge of the windshield for the passenger side.

put a layer of corrosion free rust proofing on the v70 and my partners rdx. Did so with a buddies mazda 3 and toyota rav 4. Age wise it was v70 98 (394k km), rdx 08 (300k km), mazda 3 2011 (200k km), rav 4 2017 (100k km). Rust damage wise it was Mazda 3, RDX, V70 tied the rav 4 in order of most to least rust on the vehicle. My car had some sort of rubber coating put on way early in its life and i coated it with the oil spray along with all rubber components. The manufacturer said it was safe for rubber, and my thought process is it will soak into the metal behind the bushing or rehydrate the bushings. Will report on how well the rust proofing works over the next year.

Can you provide a brand? One guy on Youtube just used I think Tire Shine on his truck's underpinning after each off road excursion.

Finally got my V70 running again. Couldn't believe how low it is after seeing it up on jackstands for 2 months

It was stuttering at idle, should have check the gap on that spark plug I sent into orbit when I forgot they where just laying into the plug hole and tried turning the engine over

Lifters were ticking really loudly, 20min of idle did nothing but a short drive keeping the revs over 2000rpm made them quiet.

Oil pressure gauge is working and so is the low pressure warning. Quite happy how hassle free that was (apart from finding the right VDO sender unit in stock  )

I'm a little confused, but it's still early. This is either sarcasm run amuck, or you're on the wrong continent.
And I've never heard of 10w60 oil.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

Sarcasm :D

10w60 oil has been around forever, but it's not really a commonly used oil. Older BMW M cars use it.
