We've neglected our 2010 T6 for the last year. Battery was totally dead, but charged it back up. Still pretty weak, but reads 13v. BUT went ahead and supplemented with a jump starter pack. Have not tried cables to my truck.
Sat for a year. Will not start. Where do I start on diagnoses? I don't have VIDA but I have the Volvo specific OBD reader and can get into details with it. Fuel is a year old at least, reading 1/8th of a tank. Is there a way to check that I am getting fuel?
Before trying to get it started, I removed the intake and swapped the alternator (the reason it sat for a year). But everything looks to be reconnected.

You need to be more explicit with your information.
The P3 has different ignition modes (some of them require the brake be depressed and some do not)
Which modes are working 0? I? II? III?
Does Ignition mode III almost work (i.e. the starter cranks but the engine doesn't start) or not at all no cranking nothing.

Good luck
Paul

The starter motor spins but it never catches. Goes about 4-5 seconds then stops till you push the button again. Even with a booster on, I have the OBDI watching and it says voltage drops to well below 11, so guessing, even with a booster, it needs more juice?

That is the level of detail needed.
From past experience
--- if the intake tube isn't seated then the MAF won't send an airflow signal and the ECU won't start the engine
-------- Disconnect the MAF and try starting that way
--- if the MAP sensor isn't connected then the engine will stall
---------- Verify that the MAP is connected
--- The ECU doesn't turn on the fuel pump until it gets a signal from the Crankshaft and 2 Camshaft sensors
---------- Make sure that all three are connected
--- Check the fuse for the fuel pump (for my S80 it near the front passengers feet, not sure for XC70)
---------- Replace the fuse and if you have the tools measure the current going thru the fuse
----------------(it will be about 0 amps until the ECU decides that it is time to turn on the engine and then it will be about 5 amps)
--- Verify that the Electrical connector for the Throttle is connected
----------- I don't know what happens if this isn't connected
--- Make sure power is getting to the ignition coils
---------- Measure the Voltage drop while cranking from the coil ground connection to Battery (-) it should be about 50 miliVolts
Check those and report back and we can look at other items that may be preventing you from starting
Good Luck

FULLY charge the battery and then try again. Modern Volvos and others will not start unless voltage is good. Cranking speed is now a poor indicator of battery condition for starting.

That is a very good point VolvoLugNut
If the battery sat for a year with out being charged it is likely past the point where it can be saved.
Use a Known Good Battery or just get a new one.
Thanks

A 3.14 second blast of ether will tell you if your are getting spark. Take off the snorkel and get the ether into the Throttle body
