Took off the headlamp cover wipers since they didn't work together. One worked consistently one whenever it felt like it. Removed the washer fluid lines that went to.them.
Found out why the bumper cover was never staying on. It's been in an accident sometime before I got it. So I popped the fender piece out from behind the plastic headlight "frame" and it fits better ,so does my head light . Now I have to figure out how to fasten it so it stays in place. .

Painted the trim under my headlights
Replaced the floor mats
Put in a new knob for controlling the heat.
That's all I did today to my 2003 s80.

My s60’s rack blew a seal and literally exploded the boot with so much pressure. I’m so excited to be buying another steering rack this year

Was it a "new" rack? I've Bosch-ZF rebuilt rack at FCP a few years ago, it still runs strong.

No, a good dry JY rack. Couldn’t find a rebuilt rack or good rebuilder anywhere in Canada during the lockdown. Learned a very expensive dumb lesson on this one. Buying a rebuilt this time.

Tackled a number of items this weekend and have two questions...maybe one of the last warm weekends this year in New England.

1. The outer shell of the OE resonator was coming loose and rattling. Got underneath and ripped it off. 17 years...pretty good.

2. Got my VIDA/DICE setup out to try to diagnose my Evap Minor Leak. Need to test the valves and pump first, then chase hoses but I have time. The CEL is lit, but inspection isn't until next July.

3. VIDA also highlighted that the Headlight Washer was not operating. I don't actually think it has in 4 years of ownership :). Found the 35 amp fuse under the hood was bad, the relay looked good. My guess is that the pump is bad. Replacing the 35 amp with a 30 did not bring back the washer operation, but also, did not blow the fuse.

4. Two questions for the forum: Where is the fuel filter on my 2006 V70? It's not under the rear passenger side of the car as the interwebs would have me believe. Also, where's the J-tube that so many call out as the culprit for the minor evap P-codes?

Took our son's 06 XC70 to the dealer. Decided with my back acting up, I will let them tackle the parking brake shoe aluminum seat fit with the Skandix parts. They were keen to look at this as they had not heard of the issue as most P2 repairs no longer get to them. Curious if this would also affect gen1 XC90's as well? I have asked them to take some pictures of what they find. If they remember I will post them.

I put this bike in the truck bed, towards the front wall, in front of the hitch. To prevent scratching, I placed an old blanket between the two. On the slide concept, I placed a huge piece of card stock next to the window, followed by the bikes, and finally the chair. To permit a better fit, I rotated the handlebars 180 degrees. With only the two of us camping, storing the bikes in the slide area was ideal. Our 5er bumper hitch bike rack had seen better days, so to speak. Because bike racks appear to wear out, we picked this notion instead acquiring a new one.

Fitted the XC70 winter tires as we have a steady snow fall with about 4-5" of snow and drifting with high winds. Naturally there is also ice under the snow. Loads of crashes on the roads this morning. Also took the opportunity to confirm the new Brembo rotors were fitted at the back as well as the Akebono pads. Nice and shiny!

Interesting side note. 2 different service advisors drove the XC70 and were amazed how nicely it runs. Both said it is really smooth!!

a3inverter: The fuel filter should be tucked up under the car forward of the RHR wheel. There is a bracket under it which hides it somewhat. The only other option I have seen is the D5 diesel vehicles in Europe which is also tucked up in the same area but up on it's end.

AS to the headlight washers. Our 06 XC70 had a similar issue. I found the headlight washer pump looked like that scene of the alien exploding out of the guy in Alien. It had presumably not had winter windshield washer fluid installed before winter. I now only use winter screen wash all year to be safe!

This is the thread on the washer pump:

18 deg celcius and sunny here… I think I’ll stay south after reading your weather forecast.
