cn90 has the same thing on his S70, and according to his profile he's in the US. Maybe it was a factory option ?

Hy Buddies,

Let's continue the adventure. I've replaced the PCV Kit. I've rebuilt the injection system (new seals for injectors...). I've putted all at its place.

Some issues :

- IDLE CONTROL VALVE.
When i start ignition, it makes a sort of humming. See the video below. Don't take care to the seat belt reminder (tac tac tac, you all know it)

At first, when i started ignition for the first time, no petrol leak anywhere on the injectors rail - seals, even after 2 mn. Then i realized a upper injector seal (on the top of the engine), wasn't correctly putted at its place. I've unscrewed the to injectors rail bolts, and of course, as the rail was under pressue, a few petrol leak appeared this time; on the 3 - 4 - 5 injectors. Normal till here.

- ELECTRICAL RADIATOR FAN
As i've putted ignition, it started to turn. I could say if it was at its top speed or not, but i don't think so. Ignition out, it continues to turn.

- DIAGNOSTIC UNIT
A2 -> Fuel system -> 1-1-1 No fault
A3 -> ABS-> 3-1-1 - Left front wheel sensor open short (normal, I've unplugged it when i worked on front break and since the car didn't drive at all
A6 -> Ignition-> 1-1-1 - No fault
A7 -> Combine instrument-> 1-2-2 - Temp. sensor interval too long

There's a hose i don't know where to plug it on a side, and i can't find the name of the square cube part (throttle position sensor ?) :

Here is what i have understood from the electrical fan diagram. May someone tell me what and how check the wiring ? From the reference 23/7 (fuse link) to 2/11 (the Electrical Fan relay), the cable is marked 5R. What does the number 5 mean ? And where is this big "A" 30 pins connector ? under the dashboard ? engine side ?

About what i understand :
I have to find and test theses relays.

I continue my investigations to learn and understand.

- IDLE CONTROL VALVE
i think it must be always feeded , the noise may come from the "age" of this part. I must replace it.

- ELECTRICAL RADIATOR FAN
- I will test the fan relay hidden over the fan and replace it, (i may have one somewhere)

- THE 30 POLES CONNECTOR
I've got the LH Jetronic 3-2, so the right diagram should be this one:

Mon ami,

Le 5 vous indique l'épaisseur du fil, le R la couleur

The 5 might be a mistake? That’s a very thick wire

Well I've never seen that light, but it's the Lambda symbol, so I'm guessing something to do with O2 system. And that hose might belong on your vacuum tree. It kind of looks like you have an open port on it in the picture pointing at the idle air control hose, but hard to tell. And the idle air control does make a slight noise when functioning.

That light is the early Volvo Euro spec engine check light. Lambda light was mostly for the O2 sensors as Sveedy suggests.

^ Most likely due to that disconnected hose. Are all of the ports on the vacuum tree utilized or capped ? That rubber piece looks like a coupling for hard vacuum line, so look and see if there is another loose end of that type of line anywhere in that area.
