940se climate control vacuum problem

Post by vrehl »

Hey, step on the gas and the climate control selector defaults to the closed position. Don't know if it's a vacuum problem or what but it only does it upon acceleration , not braking. Any help is awesome.

You definitly have a vacuum leak. Heat/AC systems are designed to default to heated defrost if the system fails. An engine only produces vacuum when at idle or cruise, under full throttle (acceleration) there is no vacuum. If the system is leaking then vacuum will bleed off causing your troubles.

Hello

I have a similar problem. When the A/C is running and only if I accelerate moderately hard (like when going up a hill) the vents change. Instead of coming out of the dash vents, it comes out of the lower vents (feet). The setting is on dash vents only!

Would this be a similar vacuum problem?

Cheers
