Has anyone here had experience with these HHO generators? I'm starting to read more about them. I must admit I'm curious and thinking about playing around with one. I tend to be quite the skeptic, so I'm throwing it out there for you folks to have a look. That last link has some interesting downloadable information to build your own...

Yes, I have been reading about it to and posted a similar question on S.S., but it was shot down quickly as something of a fantasy. They were saying that there's no way to generate more energy than you put in...well, I'm thinking any energy would be better than none- it does run off of the battery anyway. I could be wrong. Max, are you going to give it a try and report back?

Goes without saying that if i try it, I'll post back, however I am still researching the whole thing. I had heard a similar argument from someone regarding the "can't get more energy out" bit... and then someone was quick to correct that one with "you're putting electricity in, and you're getting a gas out... two different substances..." I've been trying to find cases of failure of the system, dangers/explosions, and anything to debunk it. So far, I have found little of the first, none on the second, and none on the third. It seems that this might be a good topic for the "mythbusters" tv program. I might have to send in the suggestion...

I think I read somewhere the Mythbusters did it and debunked it but never was able to find a source or a look up of Mythbusters with this topic.

Well I've just been scanning the mythbusters forum. They have a big post at the top of the transportation section which basically says it is phoney and gives a chemistry lesson to demonstrate. It then goes on to say that anyone asking the question is wasting the time of the mods there... I was not impressed. I understand that they are getting asked too often.
For me, it would be of benefit for them to actually debunk the thing by building it and installing it on a car. I dunno. I will continue to read about this. What's funny is that each side (pro and con) for the product seems to argue "conspiracy" about the other side's motivation. Rather entertaining stuff actually. There's one guy who gives the plans for free saying the government is conspiring with the oil producers to suppress the technology and we must fight back yada yada... I like the idea of the product right on up to the point where I start reading that, and then I go "okay, cuckoo, cuckoo... run away"
I'll continue to read about it... haven't made up my mind yet.

The true test will be to see how many MPG increase your car has after it's all said and done.

Those two guys on Mythbusters are paid by the network/televison/cable, so, it only makes sense that they stay away from proving it. I believe it would hurt the oil and auto industry. It only makes sense that they help each other.
