It is a flow through evaporative air conditioner about 1950 vintage. I think someone added the Chevrolet logo.

They are all After Market and the term that was used to market them is Car Cooler.

You can still get them new ... in case you want one.

Those look really neat (was going to say 'cool' but....). Saw a few of those at the Scottsdale Good Guys show on 50's cars. They look amazingly stylish and cheaper to run probably than AC!

It might not be fair, but I'm thinking this man put some Caddy badges on his Impala / Caprice / Buick to dress it up some. I don't remember a nose like this on a Cadillac. Am I wrong? The caption said he was very proud of his Cadillac.

Yep, here’s the Caddy version. They had those individual curved window openings.

Gorgeous Cadillac! They were the most unobtrusive vehicles to drive. Father had the Buick version and I loved driving it. Outside of the United States it wouldn't have made sense. June

Had a dozen of these pass me on the highway. I'm thinking either Nissan or Toyota, but I didn't get a good look at the front or back end.
