Ah, instant gasket silicon. Glad it worked for you!
Other hacks include this, by user ZionXIX, who did the "copper washer spacer mod". (although his o ring orifice looks perfectly round) Original post here: viewtopic.php?p=490464&hilit=o+rings+he ... re#p490464

The copper washers presumably are oil plug gaskets?

duckhunt wrote: ↑26 Nov 2022, 00:59 I have just yesterday fitted the below code from partsforvolvo (main Volvo parts source in Uk)
https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/pr ... 6ce9c3701d
It looks fine although the connection piece is black not clear like the picture.
I enquired before and they said there have never been any returns or claims.
I have driven around with the area exposed and there is no evidence of leaks, so I can only hope for the best?
I ensured I tightened the bottom screw first.
Don’t know if I’ve spoke to soon- so I’ve done 2 long drives now with heat of full blast. Been checking the pipes and they are dry. Park up home and they are dry. But checking a couple hours afterwards there is a small trickle that’s leaked out maybe less than a teaspoons worth.
I want to replace all the trim, but am I going to have to tackle this seal again? Has anyone experienced similar?

I need this sorted. So after finding useful posts here from others I have doubled up.
Removed the new core, and applied a very thin sliver of silicon gasket to both mating faces, reset the O rings. (New ones supplied with core - prob not OEM)
I also have replaced the screw with an M4 nut, washers and bolt - firm but not over tight.
I left it a good while for the silicon to ’set’ before refilling the coolant, let it get right up to temp with coolant cap off topping up. Heat on full blast works etc. it’s been a good few hours now and the tissue I have left underneath the pipes are still bone dry so I hope it’s sorted… I will check in the morning, only thing I could do now is get some Volvo O rings. I’m running out of bin bags!
Thanks to duke1 for the gasket idea and volvoaffair for this post from 2018.
