Turn signal - intermittent or none at all

Post by Guest »

I hope that somebody can help. I have a '91 940 with an intermittent turn indicator problem. Sometimes the signal won't work at all (both sides and hazard warnings). Sometimes it will work but for one or two 'flashes' only.

This model has the graphic equaliser unit beneath the radio, so it's dfifficult to get at the relays, behind the ash tray.

Turn switch, wiring, relay?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, to me it sounds like a typical bad relay for the turn indicator.

Check the turn signal relay- might as well replace it while you're there- the way the circuit board rests almost on the equalizer, it jars the relay loose sometimes. Happened on my neighbor's '93 760GLE. A rap on the side of the housing under the dash would clear it up until he hit a bump. Just saying.
