I'm with 'dubya, thin wire probe if needed, blow it out to clear the muck of ages. Robert may have a video; he had a problem with his 850R Mule, and as I recall there is a drain in all four corners.
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

They can have a habit of cracking/splitting at the outlet from the sunroof drain pan. Not sure how hard it would be to replace. There used to be 2 types of clear pipe in the past. The clear type and also one that was re-inforced with a cross hatched fibre. The latter we used to use on lawnmowers and the like for fuel hose. You could heat it in a cup of boiling water to fit it and then it shrunk back when cooling.
I can't recall where it runs. I know it runs down the A pillar behind the trim and then down to the floor but can't recall where it comes out.
There are 4 drains in the sunroof pan, 1 at each corner.
Neil.

Identified a coolant leak again by the ECT sensor. This time it looked to be at the sensor which i then swapped. Dried it all and now i see another leak by the thermostat housing. Going to check the thermostat in the crashed one to see if its rubber is in better condition. If it is then i will swap the thermostats and hope it stops the leak. I used a dremel to clean off debris when i screwed the housings together.

I should have clarified, this is in my xc90. The only thing designed correct is having the tube visible along the pillar.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 23:16 I’m not totally sure how the tubes are routed on the P80s, but speaking from experience with sunroof drains, don’t pull that hose out unless there’s a serious problem with it (split/cracked somewhere along the hose). I had a hell of a time re-routing the line on my dad’s Explorer after I had removed it to inspect it for damage.
I’d just make sure it’s secured to the sunroof assembly.

The car had a near fatal expierience. Lower radiator hose popped off while driving on a dirt road. Discovered it by chance while pulling over to look at the sites and sounds and saw the lower hose loose. Limped it over while keeping temps below the red bars. Stuck some blue Honda coolant in to get it home. No overheating and no mixing consistent with a head gasket failure. Will flush the system tomorrow or Monday and cross my fingers. Scared the hell out of me.

That’s wierd. Bad hose clamp? Rusty old worm clamp instead of SS oetiker?

Happy with the work this weekend.
Long overdue fuel filter change. Don’t know if it had ever been done and car at 179k. Definitely can feel the difference in the engine. Revving much happier!
Also stitched a new leather steering wheel cover on. Feels great in the hands. Not concourse result but for £25 Vs £150 for a professional retrim it’s great. Used the excess thread to stitch repair the seat bolster wear.
Repaired some rust forming below the tailgate window. Wanted to get at it early, a few pea size spots. But the lower window seal disintegrated on removal so need a replacement. £85 ish seems to be the going rate for oem so that may have to wait for after Christmas!
Happy to provide link & pics of wheel if anyones interested as the original ’leather’ doesn’t seem to age gracefully on these…
Cheers

The throttle body on my BMW decided to throw in the towel. Started up and drove my S70 all day. It had been sitting for ages but I didn’t even have to charge the battery. It feels very reliable and I love having it as a 2nd car. The other day some person had put a note on it wanting to buy it. I could have gotten good money for it but it’s not worth it thinking about how many hours I’ve spent working on it.
